Hi, I’m Maggie.

I believe every child deserves a place where they feel safe, understood, and accepted. My passion is helping children navigate big emotions, difficult experiences, and life’s transitions while partnering closely with parents to support growth both inside and outside the counseling room.

About Maggie

My professional journey has centered on supporting children from early childhood through adolescence across a variety of settings. Whether serving as a school counselor, instructor, or caregiver, my work has always been rooted in helping children learn, grow, and navigate emotional challenges, behavioral concerns, and important life transitions. Most recently, as an elementary school counselor, I’ve had the privilege of helping children grow socially, emotionally, and academically while partnering closely with families and school staff to support each child’s well-being.

Clinical Experience and Areas of Focus

  • Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA), South Carolina
  • National Certified Counselor (NCC)
  • M.Ed. & Ed.S., Clemson University
  • B.S. in Business, Minor in Psychology, Clemson University
  • Elementary School Counselor

I enjoy working with children experiencing anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral concerns, life transitions, school-related challenges, and family changes. I believe parents and caregivers are an essential part of a child’s growth and healing, and I value partnering closely with families throughout the counseling process.

Counseling Approaches Used in Maggie's Work

My work is grounded primarily in Child-Centered Play Therapy, recognizing that play is a child’s natural language for expressing emotions, making sense of experiences, and developing resilience. I strive to create a warm, accepting environment where children feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings while building confidence and healthy coping skills. Throughout the counseling process, I collaborate closely with parents and caregivers and integrate developmentally appropriate cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused strategies when they best support a child’s goals. As part of Wellspring’s commitment to providing exceptional care for children and families, I also receive ongoing consultation and advanced training in Child-Centered Play Therapy through our child counseling team.

Beyond the Therapy Room

I was born and raised in Upstate South Carolina and now live in Greenville with my husband. Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, practicing yoga, traveling, and spending time outdoors through camping, hiking, and running.
