Offers

Hello, I’m Davie.

I’ve always been drawn to working with people through relationship building. I provide counseling to parents facing transitional anxiety, as well as individuals and couples dealing with relational stress. I also have worked with postpartum women, individuals dealing with acute and complex trauma, grief and loss, as well as anxiety and depression.

About Davie

Almost all of my background involves working with people in some way shape or form. I previously worked at an outdoor adventure summer camp that focused on facilitating growth through nurturing friendships and providing a safe place to explore new skills in nature. I also worked for a nonprofit organization focused on engaging college students in community and equipping them to use their unique gifts in their context. After working with relationships and people for so long, I decided to go back to school to pursue my counseling degree. I have counseling experience working in an integrated care facility that provides counseling and health care services to a diverse population. I also have experience working in residential and outpatient treatment centers. Working in healthcare has convinced me that mental health services are extremely important to human flourishing.

Clinical Experience and Areas of Focus

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), South Carolina
  • Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Wake Forest University, Chi Sigma Iota Honors
  • B.A., University of Alabama
  • American Counseling Association, Professional Member
  • Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, Premarital and Marital Counseling
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) training
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) training

I have worked with a wide variety of clients with various mental health and interpersonal concerns. I have experience providing counseling to teenagers and parents facing the anxiety and distress that comes with growing up, as well as individuals and couples dealing with relationship struggles. I also have worked with postpartum women, individuals dealing with acute and complex trauma, grief and loss, as well as anxiety and depression. I bring a person-centered lens to my work with all of my clients, and try to tailor my work with them to fit their unique needs. I understand my clients through an attachment and family systems perspective, and lean heavily on emotionally focused and dialectical behavioral interventions.

Beyond the Therapy Room

When I’m not working with clients, I love spending time outside with my friends and family. I grew up in Western North Carolina, and nothing feels more like home to me than hiking through Appalachia. While I love being outside, I also love being at home cooking and eating with friends and watching really good TV. I love a good story, and probably pay for just about every streaming service. My husband and I have been married for almost four years, and just recently moved to Greenville. We are enjoying exploring new-to-us coffee shops and restaurants and getting outside on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Perhaps most importantly, my relationship with God is foundational and central to my life as a counselor and individual.
