Offers

Hello, I’m Davie.

I’ve always been drawn to working with people through relationship building. I provide counseling to parents facing anxiety, as well as individuals, couples & families dealing with relational stress. I have experience working with postpartum women, individuals dealing with acute and complex trauma, grief and loss, as well as anxiety and depression.

About Davie

Almost all of my background involves working with people in some way shape or form. I previously worked at an outdoor adventure summer camp that focused on facilitating growth through nurturing friendships and providing a safe place to explore new skills in nature. I also worked for a nonprofit organization focused on engaging college students in community and equipping them to use their unique gifts in their context. After working with relationships and people for so long, I decided to go back to school to pursue my counseling degree. I have counseling experience working in an integrated care facility that provides counseling and health care services to a diverse population. I also have experience working in residential and outpatient treatment centers. Working in healthcare has convinced me that mental health services are extremely important to human flourishing.

Counseling Approaches Used in Davie's Work

As a therapist, my work is focused on helping my clients to experience their story as meaningful. As we start to understand the meaning in our life, we also build awareness around how we may have grown numb or disconnected from ourselves or others. I strive to help people learn to accept all aspects of their life as important, and to make choices that move their lives and relationships in a way that is meaningful and whole-hearted.

The modalities I use most to help my clients are:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help individuals and couples practice psychological flexibility and values led decision making.
  • I lean heavily on Emotionally Focused Therapy when working with both individuals and couples as well, which helps with attachment needs, patterns and cycles as well as build healthier relationships.
  • I integrate Psychodynamic and Family Systems Therapy into my work which helps me understand more of how stories and narratives are formed in my clients life, and my use of Internal Family Systems therapy helps me guide my clients towards a posture of compassionate curiosity towards feelings of shame and feeling stuck in life. I don’t think people can change when they feel burdened by shame, so a lot of my work begins with undoing feelings and experiences of shame and loneliness.

Beyond the Therapy Room

When I’m not working with clients, I love spending time outside with my friends and family. I grew up in Western North Carolina, and nothing feels more like home to me than hiking in the mountains. While I love being outside, I also love being at home cooking and eating with friends and watching really good TV. My husband and I have been together since 2019, and moved to Greenville in 2024. Perhaps most importantly, my relationship with God is central to my life as a counselor and individual.
