Hi, I’m Becky.

Supporting others through the challenges of life is a passion of mine and I would be honored to be a partner in your pursuit of growth and wholeness.

Our life experiences shape us, and sometimes we respond to these challenges with behaviors or habits that do not aid us. I work with children, their families, and adults facing challenging life situations who want to move forward to create meaning and wellness for themselves or their families.

About Becky

I have always been drawn to the helping field, but my path did not lead me into the professional counseling career until later in life. As a school counselor, I provided solution-focused, brief therapy to children and teens, but desired to have a more active part in their journey. Combined with the experiences I have had as both an individual and as a mother, I was inspired to pursue the career path that has led me here today.

I believe our past can influence the ways we function in the present. I place a large emphasis on processing emotional reactions to events, in order to understand how we view and respond to them. With children, I do this through play-based interventions, providing them with power and autonomy within the playroom. With older children or teens, I utilize a cognitive behavioral approach and incorporate games and art into our work.

I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which is a unique approach that utilizes the power of eye movements to replace negative images in the mind that cause physical discomfort and negative symptoms for positive images of the client’s choosing. ART allows the client to resolve the emotional stimuli associated with their memories. This can be used with post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, phobias, panic attacks, as well as other issues.

Beyond the Therapy Room

I was born and raised in South Florida, and I have continued to love the beach and being outdoors on a sunny day. Outside of my time with clients, I enjoy exploring downtown Greenville’s restaurants, markets, playgrounds, and bike trails with my husband, and three children. I believe it is through community and laughter that we are most free, so our family loves to be with others doing anything that is fun! My Christian faith is very important to me, and I have spent 20+ years involved in youth ministry leadership. This experience has helped shape a love for talking about spiritual matters with teens, and the skills to allow them to ask hard questions and process their spirituality at their own pace.
