“Hi, I’m Russ.
I fully believe that healing is attainable. One of my foundational beliefs is that we are all created to live a life of wholeness and meaning. While this is not usually easy, we can develop the resiliency to enjoy life instead of using painful coping methods. We can also grow to have healthy relationships.
As a counselor, I work with families, couples, individual adults, and teenagers. I provide a special focus on men’s issues, including the difficult consequences of sexual addiction, pornography, and infidelity.
Background
I have worked in different “helping professions” over the years, and have always enjoyed guiding people to discover that change is possible. It’s a great joy to be able to help those who are hurting. I have counseled couples in a variety of settings for many years, including church and ministry settings. While I entered professional counseling later in life, my personal and family experience has given me a sensitivity and passion for working through the effects of addiction.
As a counselor, I have completed training in Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, and am currently an Associate Sexual Addiction Therapist (ASAT) candidate. I have discovered that it takes more to be a counselor than just good listening skills. Empathy, shepherding, wisdom, and discernment are all tools that are necessary to help the counselor succeed. My faith as a Christian is important to me, and I pray that God will continue to help me cultivate effective skills as a counselor to continue helping many.

Personal Qualities
I enjoy playing golf, running, and home remodeling projects in my spare time. Spending time with my wife, children and granddaughter at the beach is also wonderful, and allows me time to reflect on what is most important.
